USB: 19th October mobilisation in all cities against repression against DDL 1660. They will not stop our struggles

Nazionale,

The government has decided to put all the resources into the arms industry and defence while the country suffers heavy de-industrialisation and poverty widens. They have the cheek to tell us that the next financial manoeuvre does not envisage sacrifices, but they pretend not to know that while prices have risen, wages have stagnated. Public services are at rock bottom and work is increasingly precarious. House rents are skyrocketing and empty flats are being turned into B&Bs, while evictions are on the rise. People are dying on the job and the government is preoccupied with protecting the bosses.

in this context they put the bill 1660, to prevent protests and intimidate conflict. While they oppose the introduction of the crime of murder at work they institute a long series of new crimes, raise the penalties and give the police new protections. Our freedom is confiscated, the right to dissent is fenced off and made as harmless as possible. With this bill even a simple sit-in in the middle of the street becomes a crime and workers' struggles to block production and the movement of goods can turn into years in prison.

For immigrant workers, even those holding citizenship, the possibility of withdrawal of citizenship is introduced and another hateful series of discriminations is instituted. For movements fighting for the right to housing, measures are put in place to neutralise their action and criminalise activists.

In the fight against this bill, signed by a long list of ministers of the Meloni government, the many faces of the situation we are living are united, from war to economic choices to the repression of dissent.

USB will be in the demonstrations in all cities on 19 October.
