Il 13 giugno gli insegnanti greci hanno scioperato per difendere la televisione pubblica di cui il Governo di coalizione ha decretato la chiusura con altri 2700 licenziamenti.

Uno sciopero generale indetto dal PAME ha visto migliaia di lavoratori pubblici protestare per la scelta del Governo che mette in mano ai privati la comunicazione di massa, pregiudicando definitivamente anche quel barlume di democrazia rappresentato dall'informazione pubblica.

D'altra parte la libertà e la democrazia nasce dai luoghi di lavoro e questo Governo, come i precedenti, fedele ai diktat della BCE, ha licenziato migliaia di lavoratori pubblici, tagliato i servizi essenziali e ha precettato con minacce di licenziamento per ben tre volte i lavoratori e i sindacati se avessero scioperato.

Fatto gravissimo che in passato era avvenuto solo in concomitanza di disastri naturali.

Il 17 maggio scorso i sindacati della scuola hanno rinunciato allo sciopero.

Il 13 giugno gli insegnanti con il PAME, hanno scioperato lo stesso, per la difesa del lavoro e della libertà di espressione, in difesa del diritto di sciopero. Hanno sfidato il Governo e il PAME chiama tutti i lavoratori a difenderli.

Il 17 giugno anche a Lisbona la scuola ha chiuso per sciopero, gli insegnanti hanno bloccato gli esami di maturità. Dopo le promesse strappate nell'autunno di "rinviare" la "riforma"della scuola, ancora tagli e licenziamenti stanno martorizzando la scuola portoghese.

Spagna, Francia, Danimarca, Italia, i lavoratori europei della scuola stanno lottando tutti contro l'aumento dell'orario di lavoro e del numero degli studenti nelle classi, il blocco dei contratti, il precariato e i licenziamenti di massa, le false valutazioni dei sistemi PISA, la privatizzazione e la fascistizzazione dell'insegnamento.

Lotte importanti, come in Italia lo scorso autunno, che a volte sono capaci di frenare la fame dei capitalisti in crisi e che, cosa importante, smascherano i sindacati complici, sempre pronti a svendere le conquiste dei lavoratori per mantenere i propri privilegi.

L'Unione Europea sta dissanguando i lavoratori e distruggendo il futuro dei nostri figli.

Tocca a noi costruire un ampio fronte europeo per costruire una società senza sfruttamento, per la libertà e la dignità dei lavoratori e dei nostri figli, a partire dalla scuola.

USB expresses solidarity to the Greek workers of the school in struggle, threatened of dismissal by the Government to have struck in defense of the public TV

On the 13th June Greek teachers went on strike to defend the public television of which the coalition Government decreed the closure together with other 2700 layoffs .

A general strike announced by the PAME saw thousand of public workers protest for Government’s choice which puts in the private hands the mass communication end this way definitely jeopardizing that glimmer  of democracy represented by  public information.

On the other hand, freedom and democracy come from workplaces and this government, like its predecessors, faithful to the dictates of the ECB, has laid off thousands of public workers, cutting essential services and  forced for three times workers and trade unions with threats of dismissal if they had gone on strike.

This is a very heavy event which in the past  occurred only in conjunction with natural disasters.

On the  17th May in last year, school trade unions renounced to strike.

On 13th June, teachers with PAME, went on strike the same, in the defense of labor and expression freedom, in defense of the right to strike. They defied the Government and PAME called workers to defend them.

On the 17th June Lisbon, too the school closed due to a strike, teachers blocked the final exams. After the promises torn in the fall of "delaying" the "reform" of  school, same more cuts and layoffs are battering the Portuguese school.

France, Denmark, Italy, the European employees of the school are all struggling against the increase of working hours and the number of students in the classes, the block of contracts, job insecurity and mass layoffs, the false assessment of the systems PISA, privatization and the  dictatorship of teaching.

Important struggles, such as there were in Italy last autumn, which sometimes are able to stop hunger of capitalists who are in crisis and which, this is important, exposes the unions which are accomplices, and always ready to undersell the achievements of workers in order to maintain their privileges.

The European Union is making workers bleeding and destroying the of our children’s future.

It's up to us to build a large European front to build a society without exploitation, for the freedom and dignity of workers and our children starting from school.
