USB is on the side of Indian workers and trade unions who will be on general strike on 8 January against the anti-labour policies of the Modi government.
We believe it is very important that the strike has been called by all the most important trade unions in the country and by many independent federations and that the strike has been prepared through a real campaign of information and mass struggle.
Also in Italy, as in India, the Government does not respect workers and trade unions and proceeds unilaterally with labour reforms and privatizations that are attacking workers and citizens. USB therefore welcomes the general strike of the Indian workers and expresses full solidarity and sympathy with the reasons for the strike.
